A fantastic opportunity to be part of a creating the largest self and custom-build development in the UK, at Graven Hill, just outside Bicester. Careys are recruiting 2 Construction Operations Apprentices to be part of their workforce who are carrying out infrastructure, landscaping and civil engineering works on the site.
Graven Hill is situated at the southern edge of Bicester in Oxfordshire, approximately 13 miles north east of Oxford. Once completed, it will have 1,900 self-build homes in what will be the UK’s largest custom build development. Careys are carrying out infrastructure, landscaping and civil engineering works on the site and have opportunities for two Construction Operations Apprentices to join their groundworks team.
As a Constructions Operations Apprentice (‘Groundworker’), your typical duties will include:
Laying foundations for extensions and new builds
Installation of drainage & pipeworks
Excavating and concreting foundations, and building the foundations until the floor is on and the work is up to the damp proof course (DPC)
Hard and soft landscaping
Laying/repairing driveways and patios
You will work towards an Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2) in Construction Operations, combining on-the-job learning on site, with off-site learning at ACE Training in Kidlington, through a combination of classroom and practical workshop sessions.
