An apprenticeship enables you to achieve a recognised
qualification whilst gaining invaluable skills and
experience in a real workplace – and getting paid! Sound
good? Let us explain…
First of all, you've probably heard that apprenticeships
are only for builders and hairdressers, right? WRONG.....
What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is best described as 'learn while you
earn'. An apprentice is employed by a business, paid a
salary, given a set of responsibilities and tasks while also working towards a recognised qualification and gaining valuable work experience. Check out this useful guide to apprenticeships.
Types of apprenticeships available
Apprenticeships are available in over 1,500 job roles in a variety of workplaces and more are being developed to help more employers and industries benefit from the scheme. Take a look at this latest A-Z guide produced by the National Apprenticeship Service for an idea of how many career pathways can start with an apprenticeship.
